Ah, well that certainly explains a few things. Very interesting background to the various races in the game, I've got to say. :)
Ah, as far as pink things go, I was referring to the aliens that show up in the Murderer campaign, one of the campaigns that came in the patch? Same thing with the matter of emperor dying or not. Sorry if that wasn't clear enough.

Sorry to bump a slightly old thread, but I couldn't help but notice that video is apparently set to private. It would be nice to see it. I also agree, the Circuits might be overpowered, but considering how difficult it can be to fend off the swarms at times I'm not complaining. ;)

(And a suggestion; maybe try and explain some of these balancing factors in game? I though it was just a matter of damage and firing rate - I had no idea things like gravity and such affected the shots, and I've played through most of the game!)
3  Our Games / Immortal Defense / Questions regarding the "Murderer" storyline and character design (Spoilers!) on: January 12, 2009, 04:37:33 PM
Hi again, I just played through the Murderer campaign...well, most of it, I stopped on the last level largely due to being rather terrible at the whole "charge and shoot" mechanic. So I might be asking a question or two answered in-game, but really this section of the game has just spurred me on to ask a few questions about it and the game in general, since you're so willing to converse with your fans directly.

Regarding the plot in particular, is the Balkvian emperor [can't remember the specific name for him at the moment] seen in the campaign the same one featured in the main plot? Furthermore, is he killed in his attempt at crossing the path in VII?

Secondly, while I haven't managed to finish the last mission, I did start it...and I'd really like to know what in the world is up with that pink thing that talks to you. I have that question about a few of the characters in the game, but that in particular; what's his...her's...its deal?

In fact, I'd like to pose that question about the pink things in general; while given completely normal dialogue, they look...incredibly weird. I could say this of almost everything in the game, but in particular these things seem almost monstrous; is that intentional, or are they just meant to be another alien species? In fact, while I'm on the subject; what exactly IS the inspiration behind the character designs in this game? Its always been one of the things that stuck out about the game to me; they're quite unique and simultaneously among the strangest things I've ever seen. The Emperor in the "Notes from Pathspace" campaign in particular is probably the most intimidating thing I've seen in awhile, especially factoring in that his voice is represented by the sound effect of breaking glass.

Good job on that design in particular. (Does he actually look like that, or is it just poor K being a nut? And thanks for your time, hope the questioning isn't too disjointed. I've been rather curious about the aesthetics of this game for awhile and just never thought to ask.)

Ah, yes, it was probably the low starting score that was getting me - given how much even a circuit point can be simply to place, a few hundred hardly seemed like enough. It works out, of course, I was just wondering if I was doing something wrong. On to the next campaign, then!  ;D

Oh, and, I actually found I can get up to around four minutes on the first one...its tricky, of course, but its given me a new appreciation for the cut + strategist point combo.  :P Thanks for the response.

Hello! I quite like this game. So much so that I'm actually playing through it a second time, and am noticing something I must've glossed over the first time; the survival levels.

I'm at the first one right now, and frankly I'm at my wits end trying to work out how you're supposed to survive for more than three minutes - the difficulty VERY quickly ramps up and more and more units go flying through my carefully crafted defenses despite my best efforts. Now, lacking a guide, I thought I'd ask here; is there some kind of trick to these levels, or am I wasting my time trying to last more than a scant few minutes or so? Honestly the best I can manage with any of them is about three minutes at most. Appreciate any response, I'm going to go back to playing now.  ;)
