Distribution [a.k.a. Help get Immortal Defense on Steam!]
« on: December 14, 2009, 09:41:54 PM »
Rinku,
Have you ever though about asking Greenhouse to sell copies of your games, Immortal Defense in particular.  They're a cool independent games online retailer owned by the folks at Penny Arcade.  I thought it would be a cool way to get some more exposure for the game.
The site itself is at:
http://www.playgreenhouse.com
And the email address for submitting games can be found on this page:

i have, about two years ago, and they asked for an NDA, which i signed, then never replied to any emails after that. that's typical of portals' rudeness though, steam did the same thing.

Is there an address we can harass at Steam to get them to consider the game?

yes: jasonh@valvesoftware.com -- he's in charge of indie games for steam. steam has been known to bow to fan pressure (reportedly that's how aquaria got on steam) so if enough people email them about ID they might reconsider it.

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that you are friends with the people that made Aquaria.  Is it possible to get in touch with them to find out how they did it, or whether they could lend a hand in this regard?  I've been reading this thread lately which chronicles much of the process involved in getting their game onto steam.

Edit:  I see now that you're actually in that thread Rinku, my mistake.

Sent an email as well. Although in hindsight, I probably should have checked to make sure it's still the same person leading up the indie game side of things...
