About

The OHRRPGCE is the Official Hamster Republic RPG Creation Engine, and was created by James Paige back in 1997/1998. It was an engine that allowed you to make RPGs in the style of Final Fantasy 4 without any programming, and a small but dedicated community built itself up around it. We were all amateurs, we didn't know how to make games, but we made them anyway.

Radical Poesis Games & Creations is made up of some of the people who met each other in those times (plus one guy who never used the Ohrrpgce but used the ZZT instead). So we're a bit biased toward game-creation software as opposed to pure programming, but we still aim to make the highest quality games possible and to show the world that game-creation software can produce games every bit as good (or even better) as C++ or assembly language can.

Most of the games on this site were built in the Ohrrpgce, but a few are now being made in the Game Maker, which is more powerful than the Ohrrpgce but still pretty easy to use; if you want to get into game making we recommend checking out both of those pieces of software. Most of our games are freeware, but we are slowly but surely gathering enough skill and confidence to venture into shareware.

The site is run and written by Rinku, and other members (some more active than others) include Fyrewulff, Charbile, Orchard-L, Longetech, HarlockHero, Komera, and Wynand. All of them have LiveJournals, all using the user-names above, so if you have a LiveJournal feel free to say hi.

We each have our own ideas about what makes games fun and how we should make them, but we're held together mainly by our friendship and our shared history in the Ohrrpgce community.
